Lucilyn: every skill in tulpamancy, we just learned by hearing it was possible and then doing what we figured would make the most sense to accomplish it(edited)
2:23 AM
we learned both imposition and switching pretty quickly like that
2:23 AM
imposition was literally just trying to make those senses appear in the real world
2:23 AM
it's something akin to imagining the senses but trying to tie them to your real ones
2:24 AM
to explain that in more detail would require us to make up more detail, because that's really as hard as we thought about it
Why do people want tulpas? And do tulpas only front when you let them? Is it like a spiritual thing or a psychological thing? Im very new and im curious

1. People usually want tulpas for company. Tulpas can also happen involuntarily, though.
2. They only front when you let them, as far as I know.
3. They can be either depending on how you view them. This server mostly views them as psychological, but you can discuss spiritual approaches in #metaphysics

So tulpas are different from dissociative disorders like DID and OSDD if im correct? Since those disorders are caused by severe trauma

Depends, honestly. Tulpa systems tend to have less undesirable switches than disordered systems, but that's a given. A tulpa may be able to get control of a body depending on whether or not their trained to do so, but it depends.
Is it like a spiritual thing or a psychological thing?
Also highly subjective. Different people believe different things, but this server takes a mainly psychological stance.

1. Can be a variety of reasons. Often companionship, iirc.
2. If they have enough experience with the front they could probably take it on their own. But this would require a lot of them fronting beforehand.
3. Depends on who you ask. I look at the psychological side

There isn't much fundamentally different between you, the original, and a tulpa, other than their capabilities. In some cases, a tulpa can be on-par with their host's ability level, making them functionally the same as their host.

So like- is it possible for that to get out of hand? If a tulpa has a tulpa and that one has another do you now have four people in your head
Well we don’t need to get into that. Tulpas can’t just make more tulpas without the host knowing. You aren’t going to just have them uncontrollably multiplying
Possible, sure, but it's probably not going to happen. Most people don't go around making tulpas willy-nilly, I doubt the rest of the system would, either.

ideally y’all might want to vote on that first. You don’t want to live with an unhappy person all the time anyway, yeah? So lots of compromises happen.

Unless you have special capabilities but it all varies from person to person

Honestly, as long as you're doing the basics, you're fine, but if you didn't know how to make one as of now, I highly recommend researching significantly longer before doing anything more concrete. Saves you and the tulpa time and stress if you end up wanting to back out.

they may go dormant.
It’s hard to completely erase a tulpa, So if you remember them later, they will still probably be there, though they may need help to become more consistently active and may have changed during the dormancy
